Mount Rushmore, Black Hills, South Dakota, before and after completion of the Memorial. The Monument was started in July 1927, by Gutzon Borglum, who died in March of 1941. Work was completed by his son, Lincoln Borglum.
So which is it, Vintage Everyday? Is it a "shrine to democracy", or is it a disgraceful "defiled" mountain? Your posts have called it both now. Or is it like the "world's first supermodel", where you can call anything whatever you like regardless of the truth or the facts?
It is what it is, and what it was, and what it will be. You, OTOH, suffer from severe, caustic presentism and should probably stay away from sites like this where the past triggers you so.
