Dany Saval (born Danielle Nadine Suzanne Savalle on January 5, 1942) is a French actress who became popular in the late 1950s and ’60s, known for her charm, beauty, and light comedic roles. She began her career as a dancer before transitioning into film, where her youthful energy and screen presence quickly made her a rising star.
Saval appeared in both French and international productions, including Hollywood films such as Villa!! (1961) and Un soir sur la plage (1961). One of her best-known English-language roles was in Un pilote dans la lune (Come Fly with Me, 1963), where she played one of the three stewardesses in the lighthearted romantic comedy.
Although she never reached the level of international fame as some of her contemporaries, Saval built a successful career in French cinema during the 1960s. Later in life, she gradually retired from acting and became involved in animal welfare alongside her husband, composer Maurice Jarre. These vintage photos capture Dany Saval in her prime, embodying the true élan of French cinema in the Swinging Sixties.
