William Frederick Yeames (1835–1918) was an English painter known for his historical genre works. His most famous painting, “And When Did You Last See Your Father?” (1878), depicts a tense moment during the English Civil War, showcasing a Royalist officer being interrogated by Parliamentarian soldiers.
Yeames’ style was marked by detailed realism and a focus on historical accuracy, often portraying key moments in English history.
