August 31, 1975: Sex Pistols first band rehearsal with John Lydon, Glen Matlock, Steve Jones and Paul Cook at the ‘Rose and Crown’ pub, 134 Wandsworth High Street, Wandsworth, London. John Gray was also present with John and took photographs.
This rehearsal almost did not happen. The week before, John Lydon had been invited to rehearse with the band the next day, after miming inside ‘Sex’ with the Jukebox, at The Warehouse Theatre (locally known as The Crunchy Frog), 99 Rotherhithe Street, London. He and John Gray waited there, but Steve, Glen and Paul did not turn up.
