Amazing Photos of the 1988 Lamborghini LM002

Originally conceived as a project with the goal of developing a high-performance off-road military vehicle, the ultimate iteration, named LM002, was unveiled for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in 1986.

Upon its launch, the LM002 distinguished itself as a departure from other vehicles in the market, showcasing cutting-edge design and performance reminiscent of Lamborghini’s renowned super sports cars. Boasting a 5167 cc engine that produced 450 HP at 6800 rpm, exceptional off-road capabilities, and a design characterized by robust lines, the LM002 stood out.

Constructed with a body composed of aluminum and fiberglass, featuring all-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case with a central locking differential, and the ability to conquer slopes up to 120%, the LM002 earned the distinction of being the world’s first Super SUV. This accomplishment paved the way for the Lamborghini Urus, the contemporary successor to the LM002 and the inaugural super SUV to be mass-produced.

A total of 300 units were manufactured between 1986 and 1992. Here below is a set of amazing photos of the 1988 Lamborghini LM002.
