Born 1931 in Paris, Franco-American actress and dancer Leslie Caron started her career as a ballerina. She appeared in 45 films between 1951 and 2003. Notability for her roles in he musical films An American in Paris (1951), Lili (1953), Daddy Long Legs (1955), and Gigi (1958), and for the nonmusical films Fanny (1961), The L-Shaped Room (1962), and Father Goose (1964).
Carson received two Academy Award nominations for Best Actress. In 2006, her performance in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit won her an Emmy for guest actress in a drama series. She is fluent in French, English, and Italian. She is one of the few dancers or actresses who have danced with Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Rudolf Nureyev.
Carson’s autobiography, Thank Heaven, was published in 2010 in the UK and US, and in 2011 in a French version. Veteran documentarian Larry Weinstein's Leslie Caron: The Reluctant Star premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 28 June 2016.

DeleteI never saw any ads. Like most people, I use adbocking software so ads aren't an issue for me. I did like the fact that Disqus kept out most spam, and deleted a lot of offensive comments. How are you going to handle those things now?

Excellent effort at proving your point, however you missed another important one entirely: Comment sections attract website traffic without being mandatory reading for people who don't care for them.
DeleteI didn't miss that point at all. Yes, comment sections do attract traffic, no doubt about that. My point, because you obviously missed it, was that they attract the wrong kind of traffic. They attract the kind of traffic that drives away legitimate viewers who might otherwise support your site. Your snarky attitude validates my point, so thank you.

ReplyDeleteJudging by the new galleries the comments seem to be abandoned anyway, but it probably has more to do with having to do those unbearable picture puzzles than anything else. More trouble than it is worth, at least to me. And I am sure has heck not going to get a Google account!
