17 Rare Salt Paper Prints of Welsh Women's Portraits From the Early 1850s

The salt print was the dominant paper-based photographic process for producing positive prints during the period from 1839 through approximately 1860.

The salted paper technique was created in the mid-1830s by English scientist and inventor Henry Fox Talbot.

These rare photos from The National Library of Wales are salt paper prints that show portraits of Welsh women taken in the 1850s.
