Born 1934 as Darlyne Danielle Goldman, American actress and model Dani Crayne rose to prominence in the mid-1950s.
Discovered by a Universal-International talent scout while teaching mambo at a Hollywood dance school, Crayne signed a studio contract and appeared in a handful of films, including Ain’t Misbehavin’ (1955), Shoot-Out at Medicine Bend (1957), and The Story of Mankind (1957), in which she played Helen of Troy. Known for her striking blonde looks and husky voice, she later left acting and became a well-known figure in Hollywood social circles through her marriages to singer Buddy Greco, actor David Janssen, and stuntman-director Hal Needham.
Though her film career was brief, Crayne remains a memorable face of 1950s studio glamour. These gorgeous portraits capture Dani Crayne during her brief but glamorous years as a Hollywood actress and model in the 1950s.
