Kim Victoria Cattrall, born on August 21, 1956, in Liverpool, England, is a British, Canadian, and American actress. Her family moved to Canada when she was three months old. They settled in Courtenay, British Columbia. At the age of 11, she returned to Liverpool for a year when her grandmother became ill, during which time she took acting exams at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. At 16, she moved to New York City to pursue her acting career and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Cattrall made her film debut in Rosebud (1975) and went on to star opposite Jack Lemmon in his Oscar-nominated film Tribute (1980) and in Ticket to Heaven (1981). In the 1980s, she built her reputation as a film and television actress with a mix of comedy, adventure, and romance roles.
