Flipside, known as Los Angeles Flipside Fanzine, was a punk zine published in Whittier and Pasadena, California, from 1977 to 2002. The magazine was associated with its own record label, Flipside Records, releasing vinyl records beginning in 1978.
As a U.S. punk rock fanzine, Flipside chronicled the independent and underground music scene by fans of the punk scene. Flipside evolved from a photocopied fanzine to a magazine produced by web offset printing and featuring glossy covers.
Lasting more than two decades, Flipside remains remembered as a vital chronicle of punk history and a testament to the DIY spirit that defined the movement. Below is a collection of Flipside covers from the 1980s and 1990s.
