A great studio specialist, Bugat is known for his rigorous and refined style with lights. His personal work is centered on portraits and artistic nudes.

Lecturer at Université Paris VIII for a few years, Bugat became particularly interested in the psychology of taking photos and the mirror effect between the subject and the photographer. His silver prints are regularly purchased by collectors in auctions now.
