Temperance Posters Promoting the Prohibition of Alcohol in Alberta, Canada

The Temperance movement had great influence in the early decades of the 20th century in North America and Alberta was no exception. Alcohol was prohibited in the province from 1916 until defeated by a plebiscite in 1923 that allowed for the sale of alcohol in government stores.
