Prince sat in front of his father John L. Nelson’s ’67 Ford T-Bird for a shoot taken on the lawn of his Chanhassen, Minnesota home in 1989. The photo was taken by Jeff Katz.
“He was really close with his father,” Katz recalled. “I remember his father was there on a lot of photo sessions. They had a really good relationship so that was really cool that it was with his car.”
Jeff Katz is one of the most distinguished photographers in the entertainment industry. In 1985 he became Prince’s primary, personal photographer and collaborator. With over 50 photo sessions, including photographing his motion picture Under The Cherry Moon, their successful, and close 12-year union celebrated the height of Prince’s global fame.
