20 Beautiful Photos of the Lagonda LG45 Rapide

The Lagonda LG45 was a two-door tourer manufactured from 1936 to 1937. Only 25 were constructed, and its rarity makes it one the most desirable pre-war vehicles manufactured by Lagonda.

The car was designed by Frank Feeley and featured large front fenders, four seats, two cutaway doors “suicide doors”, and external chrome exhausts. It was dubbed “the world’s fastest car” by Lagonda upon the LG45's introduction, and was capable of reaching up to 108 mph. The LG45 was fitted with an overhead valve 4.5 litre Sanction III Meadows inline-6 engine rated at 130 hp and featured a four-speed manual gearbox.
