Ray Jones was born on January 1, 1901 in Wisconsin. He worked as a studio still photographer at Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s. In addition to his credited assignments, he worked extensively doing studio publicity stills.
Jones was known for shooting subjects in unusually athletic poses rather than traditional head shots. He died on September 4, 1947 in Sacramento, California, aged 46. These stunning photos are part of his work that Ray Jones took portraits of classic beauties in the 1930s.
