36 Vintage Advertisements of Forstmann From the 1940s

Julius Forstmann founded the Forstmann & Huffmann Company in Passaic, New Jersey in the early 1900s. By 1931, the company's name was changed to the Forstmann Woolen Company. Forstmann designed his own fabrics, founded the National Quality Maintenance League, and was a sponsor of the “Truth-in-Fabrics” bill passed by the Congress in 1940.

In conjunction with the Forstmann Woolen Company, the Julius Forstmann & Company, Inc. was established as its fiscal and selling agent. Both companies were acquired by J.P. Stevens in 1957. The papers document primarily the financial operations of the family owned and operated Forstmann Companies and subsidiaries.
