30 Amazing Behind the Scenes Photographs From the Making of ‘Leon: The Professional’ (1994)

Léon: The Professional is a heart-awakening masterpiece about a 12-year old girl, Mathilda (Natalie Portman) who falls in love with a hitman, Léon (Jean Reno). The film is a perfect blend between the dark nature of this Violent, original, emotionally affecting, effortlessly cool that electrifies within its small world and what keeps us going, in this case, Love.

Under the harshness of working in a “hitman’s world,” the story reveals much more than violence, drugs or sex. It speaks about life and the weird way it seems to work. Though many may find the story-line disturbing due to the age gap between both protagonists, the film only depicts platonic love. Mathilda and Léon share a special relationship, one which outsiders cannot understand. The brilliance of this film does not disappoint. A must-watch.

PS: the scene where Léon lets Mathilda go, and tells her that he loves her is simply heart-breaking.
