Infant’s Bed-Playpen Fits Between Front and Rear Seats of Car, ca. 1950s

Auto travel with an infant is no problem when a car bed of the type shown is used. There is room for an older child at each side of the rear seat. Ends and bottom of the bed are cut from 1/2-in. plywood and the side rails are 3/4 x 11/2-in. hardwood. The front end rests on the car floor and is cut to fit. The rear end is supported by flat-steel hooks over the rear seat.
