Fabulous Ladies Knitted Bathing Suits From Early 1930s

The 1930s were a time of transition for women’s swimsuits. At the beginning of the decade most suits were still being manufactured of wool knit, but by 1940 a great variety of materials were being used for bathing suits.

By the 1930s women’s swimsuits consisted of a one piece, with either shorts or skirt at the bottom. They were revealing more skin than ever. Low-cut backs were now in style. However, they still fully covered the bust and backside.
