These photographs of Berlin in 1970 were taken by Heinrich Klaffs. At the time Berlin was still isolated by the Cold War and divided by the wall that shaped life in the city. Looking back now, it was almost like a city from a different planet.
Heinrich Klaffs began taking pictures in 1970. From 1972 to 1974 he worked as a freelance photographer for a daily newspaper, then became an editor until 2010. For more fascinating pictures, make sure to visit his Flickr site or website.
