In 1959, Brigitte Bardot began a relationship with French actor Jacques Charrier. She became pregnant well before they were married on 18 June 1959. Bardot’s only child, her son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, was born on January 11, 1960.
Bardot had an affair with Canadian-American actor Glenn Ford in the early 1960s. After she and Charrier divorced in 1962, Nicolas was raised in the Charrier family and had little contact with his biological mother until his adulthood. Sami Frey was mentioned as the reason for her divorce from Charrier. Bardot was enamored of Frey, but he quickly left her.
