The legendary country singer Dolly Parton just recreated her iconic 1978 Playboy magazine cover for her husband Carl Thomas Dean’s 79th birthday.

“Today is July 20. It’s my husband Carl’s birthday and you’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this? Well, it’s for my husband’s birthday,” she said in a video shared on Instagram.

Parton explained in the video that she originally planned to pose in Playboy when she was 75-years-old but unfortunately, the magazine is no longer in existence. “Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy magazine when I’m 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore.”

Of course, that didn’t stop the one and only Dolly. “My husband always loved the original cover of Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy,” she told her fans. “He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not going to try to talk him out of that and I hope he agrees.”

Parton became the first country singer to pose on the cover of Playboy – under the condition that she did not have to get naked for the shoot. She suited up and posed for a recreation of the original portrait before surprising Carl with both versions as his birthday gift. As she cleverly proclaimed in her Instagram caption, “It’s always #HotGirlSummer for my husband, Carl. Happy birthday my love!”
