35 Fabulous Photos of Veronica Carlson in the 1960s and ’70s

Born 1944 in Yorkshire, England, English model and actress Veronica Carlson spent most of her childhood in Germany where her father was stationed. She played a few minor parts in films and television programmes in her mid-twenties.


James Carreras, the boss of Hammer Films, saw one of her photographs in a newspaper and offered her a role opposite Christopher Lee in Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968). She went on to star in two further Hammer Horror films, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) and The Horror of Frankenstein (1970).

Carlson also appeared in the Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) episode “The Ghost Who Saved the Bank at Monte Carlo” in 1969 and an episode of The Saint (“The Man who Gambled with Life”) with Roger Moore and also an episode of Department S (“The Double Death of Charlie Crippen”). She also was one of the 4 main characters in the TV thriller series, Spyder's Web (1972), along with Anthony Ainley, Roger Lloyd-Pack, and Patricia Cutts.

Carlson went into semi-retirement after marrying and moving to the United States. She emerged from a 24 year retirement to star in the 2019 film House of the Gorgon alongside fellow Hammer film stars Caroline Munro, Martine Beswick, and Christopher Neame.

  1. I've watched Hammer Films since before I was a teen in the 60s. I have also loved Veronica Carlson all my life. Now I am 65 and watching her once again with the feelings of young lust exposed. You are beautiful, Veronica!

  2. Veronica Carlson was born on Monday September 18th 1944 in Yorkshire and she was the Great British Actress in The Hammer Horror Movies with Dracula Has Risen fron The Grave,Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed and TV Shows Alongside Randall & Hopkirk(Deceased),Department S & The Saint.

    Veronica Carlson is The Great icon.
