Photos of Lauren Bacall in the 1960s

Lauren Bacall only appeared in a handful of feature films during the 1960s: Shock Treatment (1964) with Stuart Whitman, Sex and the Single Girl (1964) with Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood and Henry Fonda, and Harper (1966) with Paul Newman, Janet Leigh and Shelley Winters. Despite this small quantity, her Broadway career was successfully launched with her performance in the farce Cactus Flower (1965).

In this decade, Bacall began a relationship with Jason Robards and got married to him on July 4, 1961 at Ensenada, Mexico. Their son Sam Robards was born on December 16, 1961. The couple divorced in 1969, mainly due to Robards’ alcoholism, according to Bacall’s autobiography.

  1. Not a huge deal, but the photo of Bacall & Prince Phillip has the Prince clasping someone's hand blocked by some gentleman. Bacall has long black gloves on. 😀
