Beautiful Pics of May Britt and Sammy Davis Jr. on Their Wedding Day in 1960

Swedish actress May Britt married Edwin Gregson, a college student, in 1958. In 1959, she filed for divorce.

Britt met Sammy Davis Jr. in 1959. They began dating, and, after a brief engagement, were married on 13 November 1960. Their wedding caused controversy. At that time interracial marriage was forbidden by law in 31 U.S. states, and only in 1967 were those laws (by then down to 17 states) ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to the wedding, Britt converted to Judaism. This marriage resulted in President Kennedy rejecting an invitation for Davis to perform at his Inauguration. Yet, Harry Belafonte Jr who was married to a white woman at the time was invited to perform.

Once married, Britt left the movies. She and Davis had a daughter, Tracey, and adopted two sons: Mark Sidney Davis and Jeff. They divorced in 1968 after Davis reportedly had an affair with dancer Lola Falana.

These beautiful pics captured lovely moments of May Britt and Sammy Davis Jr. at their wedding reception at his Hollywood home on November 13, 1960.

  1. They divorced after she learned that Sammy had a glass testicle.

  2. They divorced after she realized she was being used as a tool by the Black/Jew political movement.

    1. Today that is known as globalization, but it really is homogenization.
Conform to the universal demographic or be marginalized and eliminated.
That is the secret lie of is really no different than fascism.
The only difference is that homogeneity is the state religion, and if you are not like everyone else you are the one who gets eliminated.

  3. They were divorced because of an affair with Lola Falana. None of the other reasons mattered to them.
