Hollywood icon Lauren Bacall was known for her distinctive voice and sultry looks. She was named the 20th-greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema by the American Film Institute and received an Academy Honorary Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2009 "in recognition of her central place in the Golden Age of motion pictures".

Not only a talented actress, Bacall was also a fashion icon. Her style was simply, effortlessly glamorous—silk blouses, blazers, pencil skirts, sharply creased trousers—and continues to inspire today.

  1. You idiots don't even know what you are talking about!
Everything Lauren Bacall was as an actress was created by Slim Keith, the wife of director Howard Hawks. Slim mentored the aspiring model Bacall, telling her how to dress, how to walk, how to talk...everything! Bacall had no innate talent other than her looks. Everything else she ended up with (including Bogie's nickname for her!) came from Slim Keith. Especially her sultry voice and fashion style!

    3. Yeah, the truth offends some people you know!
Best just to stifle it and let the delusions run the world.
      (Smell that? It is sarcasm!)
