The Last Photo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney Together
This last known photo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney together was taken by John Lennon’s girlfirend May Pang at the Louis B. Meyer/Peter Lawford Santa Monica house Lennon was renting March 29, 1974.
The photo was included in Pang’s book of photographs, Instamatic Karma, which was published in 2008.

“Following the session with Playboy, John has another haircut and, along with Yoko, boards a plane for Los Angeles where they have arranged to meet George and Derek Taylor at Monty Python’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl. George gives John a copy, on audio cassette, of his latest album. Following the show, George remains in LA while John and Yoko return to New York, arriving back in the early hours of September 29.”Despite their differences Yoko Ono said,
“John loved George and George loved John. Their friendship was very special”

There is a photo of Ringo and John 3 weeks before the tragedy. They met up and went to dinner with their wives so that they could spend time together and so John could give Ringo a copy of 'Nobody Told Me'. John decided it would be a really great song for Ringo to record on his upcoming album. After John died, Ringo couldn't bring himself to sing the song because it was too sad for him, so he gave the tape back to Yoko.
ReplyDeleteJohn was always closest to Ringo. They never had any problems with one another. I suspect it had a lot to do with the fact that they were the same age, among other things I'm sure.
yes, the Polaroid photo of John Lennon and Ringo Starr is indeed from November 1980 not May 1979. There may be photos of Paul and John from their last meetings in 1976 at the Dakota but only McCartney and Ono know this. George Harrison never saw Lennon after 1976 either. He visited the Dakota after appearing in SNL with Paul Simon that year. There may be picks but only Ono and Olivia Harrison know if they exist. Lennon always kept a Polaroid camera around and loved to document his life in pictures.
