A very rare footage of the early days of Figure Skating. This is actually the official Figure skating film of the 1924 Winter Olympic Games from Chamonix, France. It was made by Jean de Rovera and is thought to be the first commercially available film of the Olympic Games.
There’s some speed skating to start and this is followed by Sonja Henie, Herma Plank-Szabo, Gillis Grafstrom, Willy Bockl, Helene Engelmann and Alfred Berger and Charles Sabouret who finished 9th in pairs at this event with Simone Sabouret.
