Jack Garofolo (1923-2004) was a photographer for Paris Match magazine in the 1960s and ’70s. During one trip to the United States in the summer of 1970, Garofalo captured these amazing photographs of Harlem and it’s residents, really exposing the feeling of the neighborhood. When he got back to Paris after spending 6 weeks here, the magazine placed his images on the cover of the October 1970 issue.
