Gloria and Consuelo O'Connor (born in in Larchmont, New York) were American-born Italian twins who grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. They were spotted as potential models when they moved back to New York with their mother in 1945.
Consuelo served the world of high fashion as a style-setting model and editor of
Vogue magazine and
Vogue Italia. During the same period, her twin sister Gloria was a major influence on fashion as editor for the American edition of
Vogue magazine. She was also a member of the International Best Dressed List since 1959.
