Yearbook photos of Rock and Heavy Metal icons

Take a look at these yearbook portraits of Rock and Heavy Metal icons, there’s hardly a hint of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion, or future excess, just the appearance of wannabe Wal-Mart employees of the month.

Top row: Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Tom Morello (RATM), Tom Araya (Slayer), Alice Cooper, Axl Rose (Guns ‘n’ Roses), Corey Taylor (Slipknot).

Middle row: Daron Malakian (SOAD), Dimebag Darrell (Pantera), Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), Gene Simmons (Liss), James Hetfield (Metallica), Jonathan Davis (Korn).

Bottom row: Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Marilyn Manson, Slash (Guns ‘n’ Roses), Steve Tyler (Aerosmith), Zakk Wylde (BLS).

  2. This just prover what most of us have known all along: rockers are just wimpy nerds in leather.

  4. Umm... Axl Rose and Corey Taylor are both clearly high, and most of their eyes are screaming "Fuck this"

  5. you have no idea the courage that rockers have (nameless faceless person on the internet) ignorant dick!.

  6. Courage? Really? I usually reserve that word for people who risk their lives or otherwise put themselves in harm's way for the betterment of the world. Or one facing a horrible disease with bravery. While I'm all for rock music too ... there's far more important things going on right now for you to get indignant about, don't you think?

  7. If that's your face, it's a good one.

  8. What exactly is more important? The US making excuses to invade other countries? The "news" reporting nothing but death and hatred? It takes courage to do more than, as you say, "put yourself in harm's way". These days it takes courage to sometimes just get up in the morning and face what the world is. I'm sick to death of people thinking the way you do. You are narrow minded and shallow.

  9. No dude, narrow minded and shallow is claiming that a "rocker" has courage. Of course we ALL have our own levels of courage when battling hardships. And yes, with a currently dying mother, I'm pretty aware of what kind of strength it's taking to get up in the morning, which is what inspired my comment in the first place. My mom (and the many other millions of sick, very ill people) have courage, not some "rocker" who seems fame and fortune. And what in the hell makes your (narrow) mind think I was referring to invading other countries??? That had zero to do with my comment, but okay.

  10. courage is courage it matters not what it is used for! i don't even think that was point of my post so your lil tirade was pointless!. and fyi i use my courage for a lot of 'good' things.

  11. and why did you think i meant famous rockers!? i am talking about everyday people who are not the wimps they were accused of being by the OP! your post was just ignorant and rude!

  12. no, narrow minded is you suggesting only extreme things are important or worthy of discussion or praise!

    ReplyDelete
  13. oh yes because you see the "glamour" of it all and assume that's all there is! i was talking about the hardships they go through in everyday life, they are generally 'as a group of people' the underdogs of society, that was the courage i was referring to and the fact that they don't let people walk all over them you ignorant thoughtless bitch!

  14. courage is courage it matters not what it is used for! and your response is ridiculous! you're like the multitudes of people that complain when you talk about any subject other than worn torn countries and other similar extreme things happening in the world. if the topic doesn't interest you then fuck off and go read the news!

  15. And you're like that person that thinks they know someone by a few facebook comments. I stand by my original response. It's ridiculous to call rockers "courageous". You are fully entitled to disagree, but if you don't want people to reply to your comments, then you might want to get off the internet and go crank up the volume somewhere and tune out the real world.

  16. btw, based on the fact that you so freely call someone you don't even know, let alone someone who informed you their own mother is dying, a "thoughtless bitch" who needs to "fuck off', all to defend "rock and roll" ... then I would have to assume you are either 1. A 13 year old kid who doesn't know better yet or 2. a grown ass person who's got some serious personality disorders. Grow the hell up. It's time.

  17. You can tell if someone is a wimpy nerd by a low quality photo of their face? Wow.
