Prince Roller Skating on His Tennis Court at Home, 1989

Prince wearing roller skates and a Batman crop top. These amazing photographs were taken by Jeff Katz on Prince’s tennis court at his Chanhassen home to promote the soundtrack for the movie Batman in 1989.

The photographer recalled: “Prince literally rolled up to me on his home tennis court at Galpin Blvd., Chanhassen, MN and said: ‘Let’s shoot some action shots!’ I have to admit, at first, I didn’t think he could pull this outfit off! But as usual, he did with poise, grace, and humor!”

Jeff Katz is an American photographer that worked for Prince during the Batman era. Katz did album photography and unit stills for the music videos Batdance, Partyman and Scandalous in promotion for the 1989 movie.
