Girls of Woodstock: The Best Beauty and Style Moments from 1969

The 1969 event was undoubtedly one of the most formative moments in music history, but as we've learned with most music festivals, they lend themselves to some pretty awesome style-spotting. Long before the concept of street style or even festival style existed, Woodstock showcased inspiring women wearing sweet bell bottoms, crop tops and knit dresses.

  1. All naturals back then ..

  2. The third picture up from the bottom (Janis Joplin with a green scarf on her head and pink sunglasses) isn't from Woodstock. It's from her trip to Rio de Janeiro in 1970. Just pointing that out in the name of historical accuracy. :)

  3. My mom is the 4th picture. Robin "Blue" Gale Hallock when she was 18 years old backstage @ Woodstock 69!

  4. 12 pics up from the bottom is Grace Slick sitting to the right of a gorgeous blonde holding a hash pipe. I mean drop dead beautiful blond. And grace.

  5. I second that observation.

  6. Jeff Airplane drummer Spencer Dryden's wife, Sally. = ) \m/

  7. The girls were so much prettier then.

  8. I remember photo 14 from the magazine - the gal in the rose top, with her head askew.
She looks like she is having a great time!

  9. And just plain natural, too.

  10. My babe was in on the Haight/Ashbury scene, along with her four sisters. Was hired by Bill Graham himself to work at Fillmore West for two years. She met & partied with every band that played there, Hendrix, Santana, Airplane, Free, Pearl - everyone. She was the epitome of the classic flower child. However she doesn't dress like that anymore, but has kept true to the spirit & is even more beautiful now than she was back then; age just adds character.

  11. What I want to know is how did they all stay so skinny when everybody smoke so much pot?
    I want the secret !
