The 1938 MG TA Tickford Drophead Coupé is a rare and elegant variant of MG’s popular T-Type Midget. While most TA models were open two-seater roadsters, this more luxurious version featured coachwork by Salmons & Sons of Newport Pagnell under the Tickford name.
The car offered a practical three-position convertible top, wind-up windows, and higher doors for better weather protection, along with a refined interior. Powered by a 1,292 cc overhead-valve four-cylinder engine producing around 50 horsepower, only about 250–260 examples were built before World War II.
