  1. I was driving in 1975 and had no love for what was coming out of Detroit. It seemed as if US auto manufacturers were in a race with the UK as to who could build a vehicle with the worst fit, finish, and reliability. Fuel prices aside, it was no wonder that many of us started to look at Japanese cars.
