Born 1888 in Aachen, German poster artist Jupp Wiertz studied in Berlin and learned lithography in Leipzig. In 1914, he worked as a fine art printer and in the 1920s and ’30s, he became a renowned poster artist.
Wiertz worked on publicity for the German Reichsbahn and the Zeppelin production art designs and for Lufthansa. He died in 1939 in Berlin, aged 50. Here is a collection of impressive posters illustrated by Jupp Wiertz from the early 20th century.
