Vintage Photos of Labelle’s Style in the 1970s

Labelle was an American girl group formed in the early 1960s, originally known as “The Ordettes” and later “Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles.” They achieved mainstream success in the 1970s, particularly with their 1974 hit “Lady Marmalade,” a funky, soulful anthem.

The group was known for its powerful vocals, theatrical performances, and blending of R&B, pop, and soul. Patti LaBelle, the lead singer, went on to have a highly successful solo career after the group disbanded in 1976.

Labelle’s influence on music and fashion remains iconic. Take a look at these vintage photos to see Labelle’s style in the 1970s.

  1. Never disputed nor emulated the flight of funky LaBelle sadly, during tenure. Of popularity they wasn't understood conflict they convey "independent womanhood" wasn't appreciated. Aware if later title Chameleon (1976) would sold RIAA platinum going another release late 1977. LaBelle wasn't a trio a band better live then album titles during standard. Filming bands LaBelle never performed same arrangements during tours awaiting live footage archive photos book soon. Yes, there unrelease Quad mix of Chameleon along The Phoenix (1975) many of audience didn't understand the imagery popular in the EU. Disbanded (1977) release solo efforts listen enjoy especially Nona's self title 1977,Female Trouble (1987) and Sarah titles of (1981) comeback excellent underrated title of 1988 with Moments. LaBelle didn't sing they performed emulated lyrical concepts undisputed artist!
