Photos of the 1924 Renault NN Berline

Unveiled at the 1924 Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris, the NN succeeded Types KJ and MT as a quintessential French motor car of the 1920s and 30s. Widely adopted as taxis in towns and cities across the nation, this particular model is believed to have originated as a Paris Taxi.

Renault’s design choice from 1904 to 1930 involved placing the radiator behind the engine, utilizing a flywheel with vanes to cool the air. This innovative approach allowed for a smoother and more aesthetically pleasing bonnet design. The early Renaults, with their ‘coal scuttle’ bonnets featuring twin radiators on each side of the engine, showcased a distinctive Art Deco appearance.
