The 1970s was a time of liberation, of “anything goes,” and people were putting their bodies out there and feeling proud of them. The Woodstock era had taught us to be free, to question authority in general – and in particular, to question traditional stuffy attire.
People simply weren’t afraid to show skin, as they had been. Shaggy hair and short shorts were a popular and perfectly fashionable combo.
These cool pics were photographed by Nick DeWolf that show American young women in their short shorts from the 1970s.

The misogyny of this site is becoming a bit much, tbh.
ReplyDeletenothing here fits that description.
DeleteGuess what? Women wore shorts in the '70s because it was summer. Not everything is a Boomer political act of "liberation" for Pete's sake.
ReplyDeleteGuys wore shorts too and not everyone in the '70s (or in this photo collection) was a hippy.
How does 'Boomer' have anything to do with this?
DeleteShorts VERY popular with youngsters here in soCal.
