Dominique Wilms (born Claudine Maria Célina Wilmes on June 8, 1930) was a Belgian film actress who became a prominent figure in French cinema, particularly known for her roles as a mysterious and elegant “fatal woman” in crime thrillers.
After studying at the Paris School of Fine Arts and working as a model, Wilms achieved instant fame with the film La Môme Vert de Gris (1953), which cemented her image as a star of the genre. She went on to star in numerous French, Italian, and German productions throughout the 1950s and ’60s, appearing alongside actors like Eddie Constantine.
Later in her career, she chose to step away from the limelight to reconnect with her passion for the arts, dedicating herself to painting and the restoration of art objects, including studying art history at the Louvre School. She was married to French actor Jean Gaven and passed away in Paris in 2025.
These vintage portraits capture Dominique Wilms at the height of her allure — a vision of European sophistication and timeless cinematic glamour.
