Born 1928 as Barbara Marie Nickerauer, Barbara Nichols was an American actress and model known for her bubbly personality and blonde bombshell image. She often played supporting roles in Hollywood films and on television during the 1950s and ’60s.
Nichols began her career as a model before moving into acting. She was particularly recognized for her comedic roles, often portraying brassy, good-hearted characters. Some of her notable film appearances include Sweet Smell of Success (1957) where she played Rita, a nightclub dancer, and Pal Joey (1957).
On television, she made numerous guest appearances on popular shows of the era, including The Beverly Hillbillies, The Untouchables, and The Twilight Zone.
