Fabulous Portrait Photos of Barbara Feldon in the 1960s

Barbara Feldon is an American actress, writer, and former fashion model, best known for her iconic role as Agent 99 in the classic 1960s television spy comedy Get Smart. Born 1933 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she studied drama and eventually moved into modeling and television commercials before gaining widespread recognition.

Her portrayal of Agent 99 was groundbreaking for the time: she was intelligent, competent, and often outshone her male counterpart, Maxwell Smart (played by Don Adams), in a male-dominated spy genre. This made her a subtle feminist icon during a period when such characters were rare on mainstream TV. Feldon’s grace, wit, and unique charm helped define the show’s appeal.

After Get Smart, Feldon continued acting in television and film, though none of her later roles achieved the same level of fame. In later years, she shifted toward writing and self-reflection, publishing a book titled Living Alone and Loving It in 2003, which blends memoir with advice for single living.
