Born 1886 in Florence, Italian illustrator Ezio Anichini was son of Giuseppe Anichini, an illustrator for the publishing house R. Bemporad & Son. He enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1902 where he graduated in 1910, also obtaining an encouragement prize.

Anichini made his debut as an illustrator in 1903 for Scena illustrata, a popular Italian magazine based in Florence with which he had a long collaboration. In 1906, after having participated in a competition announced for the covers of Vamba’s Il giornalino della Domenica magazine, he also began a long collaboration with this newspaper.

In addition to collaborating with many other magazines of the time (Musica e Musicisti, Passerotto, Corriere musica dei bambini, Vita nova, Almanacco Italiano Bemporad), Anichini was also an illustrator of books and posters for theatrical performances at the Roman Theater of Fiesole (1911-1913).

Anichini died in 1948 in Florence at the age of 62. Here below is a set of impressive posters designed by Ezio Anichini in the early 20th century.
