The lauded singer was known for her beehive, which seemed to get higher with each performance.

2. Brigitte Bardot

The famous French actress of the 50s and 60s paved the way for other starlets, but was easily recognizable in a crowd thanks to her penchant for HUMUNGOUS hair, from big beehives to boisterous bouffants.

3. Raquel Welch

This 1960s bombshell is so famous for her massive mane that a quick Google search reveals there are several lines of wigs and hairpieces named after her…I guess a lot of women are STILL trying to achieve Welch’s signature waves.

4. Dolly Parton

Country queen Dolly P was sporting big hair before she was big and famous! “Everybody has their own idea about how they look the best and in my world, I always wanted to be glamourous…so I like to wear a lot of hair.”

5. Pam Grier

Perms and chemical processes used to be the norm, but Ms. Grier was one of the leading forces in a widespread movement to reclaim African heritage and culture with her bold and beautiful look.

6. Jean Shrimpton

One of the world’s first supermodels rocked sky-high blowouts on too many magazine covers to name.

7. Jackie Kennedy

The timeless beauty proved once and for all that you don’t need a lot of hair to have big hair…but you do need an ample supply of hairspray!
