These Weird Fashion Ads From '70s Magazines Are Bound to Either Embarrass You or Make You Facepalm!

The 1970s were a weird time for fashion, as bell bottoms proved popular, often paired with outrageous patterns and cable-knit everything.

The high-waist pants, skimpy briefs and synthetic fabrics that are often seen as faux pas today hit the catwalks as some of the most popular fashion choices of the decade.

In these men's clothing advertisements from 40 years ago, the strange and bizarre fashion of the 1970s is in full force, as men don sweaters with belts, leotards, knee-length nightgowns and hats of all variety.

The men appear confident and proud to be wearing what was the it-clothing of the decade.

Vintage Motors by Early Kodacolor Prints

Kodacolor was a color negative film manufactured by Eastman Kodak between 1942 and 1963. It was the first color negative film that they marketed. When introduced, Kodacolor was sold with the cost of processing the film included, but prints were ordered separately. Both the film and processing procedures were revised through the years.

30 Rare Color Photographs From The Beatles' Very Last Photo Shoot at Tittenhurst Park, August 1969

On August 22nd 1969, The Beatles got together at John Lennon’s estate in Tittenhurst Park for their final photo session. Nobody knew at the time that this would be the last one.

The Beatles’ very last photo shoot took place here, with one of the many images from that session appearing on the cover of the Hey Jude album (released in 1970 in the US and 1979 in the UK). It was caught by the cameras of American photographer Ethan Russell, veteran Daily Mail man Monty Fresco, and the Beatles’ assistant Mal Evans.

Some amateurish film footages were also shot on this day. John and George donned wide-brimmed cowboy hats. Yoko Ono Lennon and a pregnant Linda McCartney appeared in some of the photographs too.

20 Black and White Photographs of Gypsies From Between the 1960s and 1970s Show Nomadic Life at Its Most Romantic

Between 1962 and 1971, Josef Koudelka travelled throughout his native Czechoslovakia and beyond to rural Romania, Hungary, France and Spain. His main subject was the Romany Gypsies (“Cikáni” in Koudelka’s native tongue).

Drawn to their nomadic lifestyle and dramatic faces, as well as their rituals and customs, Koudelka set off every summer, carrying a rucksack and a sleeping bag, sleeping in the open air, and living frugally as he journeyed deeper into his subject matter. The Gypsies called him the “romantico clandestino”.

Teams like the Fabulous Ones, Rock & Roll Express and the legendary Handsome Jimmy Valiant are pictured in the collection, hearkening back to a time when wrestling was just beginning.
