45 Candid Photographs of Elvis and Priscilla Presley on Their Wedding Day on May 1, 1967
On May 1, 1967, Elvis Presley, King of Rock ’n’ Roll, married his girlfriend of many years, Priscilla Beaulieu, far from Graceland, at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. There were no impersonators in sight, but there were members of the press, who were invited by the star’s manager to a press conference between the intimate ceremony and champagne breakfast for 100 that followed.
At that time, the 32-year-old King – still several years away from a rhinestone jumpsuit – was the world’s top-earning entertainer, starring in up to three movies a year and singing his way through their soundtracks. The couple first met eight years earlier, when he was stationed in Germany with the army and she lived on a military base with her Air Force Captain father. The two began seeing each other (“It was a very innocent time,” she later said, because she knows what you’re thinking. “We still had morals, very high standards.”) and Presley proposed with a three carat diamond in December 1966.

The history of Egypt has been long and rich, due to the flow of the Nile river, with its fertile banks and delta. Its rich history also comes from its native inhabitants and outside influence. Much of Egypt's ancient history was a mystery until the secrets of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs were deciphered with the discovery and help of the Rosetta Stone.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. The Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the other Seven Wonders, is gone. The Library of Alexandria was the only one of its kind for centuries.
These amazing photos below were taken for the National Geographic. They show Cairo, Old Cairo and Al Azhar , Giza and the pyramids plateau when the Nile reached the Pyramids during the flood. The photos also show Luxor , Aswan and even Sinai. The faces of Egyptians are the same despite some of the clothes are different now in certain areas.

Madame Yevonde's Goddesses: Extraordinary Color Photos of 1930s Society Women Dressed as Mythological Figures
Yevonde Cumbers Middleton (1893-1975) was an English photographer, who pioneered the use of colour in portrait photography. She used the professional name Madame Yevonde.
Yevonde's most famous work was inspired by a theme party held on March 5, 1935, where guests dressed as Roman and Greek gods and goddesses. Yevonde subsequently took studio portraits of many of the participants (and others), in appropriate costume and surrounded by appropriate objects.
This series of prints showed Yevonde at her most creative, using color, costume and props to build an otherworldly air around her subjects. She went on to produce further series based on the signs of the zodiac and the months of the year. Partly influenced by surrealist artists, particularly Man Ray, Yevonde used surprising juxtapositions of objects which displayed her sense of humor.
