These Heartwarming Then-and-Now Photos of 25 Couples Prove That True Love Is Forever

It’s always interesting to see ‘before and after’ pictures. These images below feature couples who decided to commemorate some of their favorite memories in a fun way, by recreating scenes from old photos. The first photos feature these couples either on the day they met, when they first started dating, or on their wedding day. They are then coupled with more current pictures taken to mimic those same moments – some quite a few decades later. But all are recreated to a tee!

Seeing these couples still so happy, after so many years, warms the deepest parts of our hearts. Not only have they cared for each other with love and humor, but their relationships and marriages have withstood the test of time.

The guys at Bored Panda have compiled a list of couples photos at the beginning of their relationship and then decades later. Check out 25 photos below of these wonderful couples!

1. Almost 44 years after their wedding, the wedding dress still fits. 1971 and 2015.

2. Senior couple recreates their old photo.

3. Couple kissing the Stanley cup 37 years ago, and here they are again doing a modern re-creation.

4. The big moment, 1972 and 2015.

5. This guy married the girl of his dreams, they met when they were 3.

I HATE LOVE!

Kubrick’s 1950 still of a young woman, with her back to the camera, holding a lipstick with which she has written “I HATE LOVE” on a white fence.

Photo by Stanley Kubrick, ca. 1950.

If captured on the wing, would it be more of a “true” photograph than if, as turns out to be the case, it was wilfully posed by young Stanley?

In fact, it is the reduction of cinema to a single frame: an unmoving movie, which primes and frustrates the viewer’s wish to know more, and so leads us to read the girl’s despair into a moving narrative.

Some Things Never Change: Couple Celebrated Their 40th Anniversary by Recreating Romantic Photos From Their Wedding Day in 1975

Here’s further proof your parents will always be cooler than you! A couple celebrated their 40th anniversary by recreating photos from their wedding day in 1975. Reddit user magic976 shared these cute pictures of his parents on the day they got married in 1975 and again in 2015.

Photo recreations like this have become a huge trend but what’s truly special about this one – aside from 40 years of marriage, of course – is the couple is wearing the exact outfit they got married in. The bride made her own dress and the jacket for her husband. The only thing that changed in the picture was the motorcycle and the location.

You’ll Fall in Love With These Vintage Batman Valentines From the 1960s

You never can tell what you’ll discover on eBay. And, lucky for us, Chicago-based cartoonist Mark Anderson was exploring the online auction house when he chanced upon a bunch of Doubl Glo Batman Valentines from 1966 and snatched them up. He has posted them on his website for all comics fans to enjoy!

The old-school comic illustrations are accompanied by cheesy and geeky words that draw the link between Batman’s crime-fighting plotline and lovey dovey sentiments. For instance, one of these colorful Valentines reads, “You make my heart go va-room on Valentine’s Day!”.
