Women Fashion 70 Years Ago: Dresses That Young Girls Used to Wear in the 1940s

Despite the hardships of World War II, fashion in the 1940s still ruled as women everywhere embraced a more utilitarian look. 1940s dresses are flattering with a modest top, fitted waist and knee length A-line skirt. Patriotic colors (red, white, blue, army green) were the most common during war time while brighter pink, yellow, sage and sky blue cheered women up in the late years.
