Interesting Color Photographs Capture Daily Life of Students at New Trier High School in 1950

High school days in the early 1950s were on the whole carefree. These interesting vintage photographs were taken by LIFE photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt at New Trier High School, they show what high school life was like in the 1950s.

  1. New Trier High School was segregated when Life visited this school in an affluent white Illinois suburb. Even now the school is something like 86% white while schools just a few miles away are heavily attended by minorities.

  2. Back before school systems banned the wearing of blue jeans to class. Levi's 501 Blue Jeans in abundance in these pictures.
